Special Olympics North West Regional Gala – 28 September 2024

9 swimmers, 3 Team Managers, 5 Gold, 5 Silver, 5 Bronze medals, 8 Personal Best times, and some great balcony support from our parents made for a wonderful afternoon of swimming at the Palatine Leisure Centre in Blackpool.    With an early rise for a 9am registration our swimmers proved that they were ready for the event and gave their very best.  Our newest member Waleed shone as he registered a PB in all three of his races winning Gold, Silver and a “Speeding Ticket” (swimming 15% faster than his entry time – brilliant!!).  A big Shout Out to the coaches at KAL who have done a brilliant job in preparing the swimmers for their events – we saw some great swims and very happy to report no DQs!   As always, we are super proud of our very special team.
